Diagnosed with Type 1 diabetes at age 8, Dr. Andrew Rice initially wanted to be an endocrinologist. But that changed during a neurology stint while a resident. “My wife said it was the happiest she had seen me while in residency. I was excited to get to work and to learn about new patients. That’s when I decided to switch to neurology.”
He loves the problem-solving nature and intricacies of medicine. His patients can expect an approachable style coupled with a thorough assessment of their issues. “I work with patients on what is best for them. I explain the reasoning behind the diagnosis in terms the patient can understand and then discuss further testing or treatments.”
Dr. Rice enjoys spending time with his wife and daughter and loves to cook for family and friends.
