Laboratory Services

The Corvallis Clinic's on-site reference laboratory collects or receives specimens for analysis and culture. Technologists analyze these specimens to identify infectious and non-infectious diseases as well as monitor the effects of medication. As a reference laboratory, we collect and analyze lab tests from outside medical groups.

Providers
When your doctor orders a laboratory test, your test usually can be done in the Clinic's Laboratory at the time of your doctor visit. A laboratory staff of approximately 30 technologists, lab assistants and support staff are available to serve you in The Clinic's on-site reference laboratory.

Technologists are certified by the American Society of Clinical Pathologists, ensuring that your test sample will be analyzed and/or cultured appropriately. In-house physicians and a local pathologist direct the Clinic's lab. Richard Eastburn, MT (ASCP), manages the department with the assistance of Susan Snyder, MT (ASCP). The main Asbury Building laboratory also supports satellite labs at Albany Family & Specialty Medicine and Philomath Family Medicine.

Test Results
Most routine test results are available within 24 hours. Culture results take 48 hours and other tests can take up to a week or more. Because your physician must interpret lab results, we cannot give test results to patients by telephone. Our patients must see their physician to receive this information.
