As part of our mission, The Corvallis Clinic is dedicated to enhancing the health and well-being of the communities we serve. We are proud to join with health care organizations in the state of Oregon and across the country to create a tobacco-free, healthy environment for patients, employees, physicians and visitors.
Our tobacco-free status went into effect in 2009, and applies to all Corvallis Clinic facilities, parking lots and sidewalks that make up our campus.
Smoking and the use of tobacco products is the number one source of preventable deaths in the country. Even passive exposure to secondhand tobacco smoke is a major health risk, leading to approximately 50,000 deaths each year. By making our campuses tobacco-free and providing comprehensive tobacco cessation services we are addressing the number one health risk today.
