CORVALLIS — Emily Glick, M.D., will begin to see new patients at The Corvallis Clinic’s Internal Medicine Department in mid-October. To make an appointment, call 541-757-3757; to request an appointment online, go to New Patient Appointment Request.
In addition to basic primary care, Dr. Glick likes to provide complex care management to get people feeling better, whenever possible, so they can return to doing the activities they enjoy.
Certified by the American Board of Internal Medicine, Dr. Glick comes to The Clinic from Fletcher Allen Health Care/UVM Internal Medicine, in Burlington, Vt., where she had practiced since 2012.
She likes to apply complex physiology and pathophysiology to solve a problem to make a person feel better, as much as possible. “It might be something like getting someone who has chronic kidney disease or heart failure to the point where their their energy or breathing is a little better, so they can do the things they want to do. Maybe be out in the garden or be with their grandchildren.”
Dr. Glick completed her residency at Fletcher Allen Health Care/UVM Internal Medicine, in 2012, and earned her Doctor of Medicine from the University of Vermont College of Medicine, in Burlington, in 2009. She earned a Bachelor of Arts in Biology with an English minor from Barnard College, Columbia University, in New York, N.Y., in 2002.
Dr. Glick pursued a medical career because she has always enjoyed the life sciences and been intrigued with the workings of the human body, and she wanted to go into a field where she was directly working with and helping people.
She views her approach to working with patients as a partnership. “I don’t come from some authoritarian place of telling people what they should do; rather, we work together to find an approach that is best for the patient.”
And she enjoys helping patients navigate through both complex medical issues and healthcare systems. “I really do see myself as a guide who can help people discuss things with their specialists and make all aspects of their medical care more understandable and manageable.”
Dr. Glick enjoys spending time with her husband, family, friends and dogs. She also likes traveling, reading, music, comedy shows, and snorkeling.
