CORVALLIS — Lee Chamberlain, FNP-C, is the newest provider to join The Corvallis Clinic’s QuickCare convenience clinics.
Ms. Chamberlain comes to The Clinic from Samaritan Health Services where she worked as Family Nurse Practitioner at Geary Street Family Medicine in Albany from 2015 to 2017 and at Samaritan Lebanon Health Center in 2017.
She is board certified by the American Association of Nurse Practitioners and earned a Master of Science in Nursing, Family Nurse Practitioner, Gonzaga University, in 2015.
Prior to becoming a nurse practitioner, Ms. Chamberlain was a registered nurse at Good Samaritan Regional Medical Center in Corvallis from 2006 to 2015; Iverson Memorial Hospital in Laramie, WY, from 2002 to 2006; and St. Mary’s Hospital in Tucson, AZ, from 1999 to 2002. She earned a Bachelor of Science in Nursing from the University of Arizona in 1999.
Initially a mathematics teacher, Ms. Chamberlain eventually became drawn to the medical field, partially because her father and uncles were physicians and mother and aunt were nurses. “I found their stories fascinating and loved to see their faces light up when they spoke about their patients.”
In addition, her father and mother’s work caring for the underserved sparked in her a similar desire. She currently volunteers at Community Outreach, Inc. in Corvallis and has volunteered at clinics in Sierra Leone, Mexico and Costa Rica. “I find the work inspiring and rewarding and plan to continue to volunteer the rest of my life.” She also speaks intermediate Spanish and is working to improve this skill by planning to attend a Spanish immersion program in Mexico with her family.
“I feel honored to be practicing as a family nurse practitioner. I have been in nursing for almost 20 years and the longer I practice, the more humble I feel as I speak with patients and they discuss their thoughts and concerns, what they would like to achieve as they work towards meeting their optimal health goals, and what matters to them in their lives.”
Outside of work, Ms. Chamberlain loves spending time with family and friends and enjoys traveling, hiking, knitting and swimming.
