Kayla Freitas, FNP-C, began her healthcare career as a CNA while still in high school, and she has been a nurse since 2003. Over the years, she earned her BSN and MSN, graduating from her Family Nurse Practitioner program in 2020. Kayla has cared for patients across the lifespan, from infancy to her oldest patient at 104 years old. Her professional experience spans hospital settings, urgent care, primary care, community-based care, mental health, and corrections, giving her a broad and well-rounded perspective in patient care.
A caretaker by nature, Kayla values building meaningful connections with patients during their visits. She takes time to listen, provide education, and work collaboratively to develop care plans. This team-based approach empowers patients to make informed decisions and offers them reassurance.
