Raised in the suburbs of the San Francisco Bay Area in California, Mairin Fahey, LCSW, brings a wealth of experience and a compassionate, patient-centered approach to integrated behavioral health.
After obtaining her undergraduate degree from Oregon State University, Mairin’s journey into healthcare began during her graduate studies when she assessed patients with mental health concerns in an emergency department as part of her Master of Social Work program. This experience ignited her passion for helping individuals facing mental health challenges within the healthcare system. As a licensed clinical social worker, she subsequently worked in an acute care hospital as a medical social worker, offering assessments and resources to patients with mental health and psychosocial issues. Mairin’s commitment to a team-oriented approach in healthcare and her appreciation for the interconnectedness of physical and mental health led her to become an integrated behavioral health provider.
In her practice, Mairin’s focus is on addressing issues like grief, anxiety, and depression, with a deep understanding of the healthcare system’s intricacies and the barriers patients often encounter. “I value the rapport I can build with individuals who are sometimes experiencing the most difficult moments of their lives, and I am honored to be able to assist them in their process of navigating complex emotions during this time.” She brings a trauma-informed lens and a person-centered approach to her work, embracing the biopsychosocial model and systems theory. Mairin aims to offer holistic, inclusive care, helping patients acquire new skills to manage their mental health symptoms.
Outside of her work, Mairin enjoys gardening, travel, outdoor activities, and spending quality time with her partner, cat, and two dogs.
