"Initially I was a little hesitant to take part in a research program, but I believe that was simply because I was in unfamiliar territory. From the start I was put at ease by a wonderful staff and each part of the process was explained in a way that was easily understood. I can say that I am grateful to have been given the opportunity to participate."

Clinical trials are an important component in health care to help create medications that are on the cutting edge of disease management. Mid-Willamette Valley patients have the opportunity to participate in safe and effective clinical trials through The Corvallis Clinic Research Center. This center works with sponsors and clinical investigators in studies of medicines and therapies. All clinical trials are conducted under the supervision of a medical doctor. Often, the studies provide patients with study medications and provider care at no charge while participating in a trial.
