Our board-certified general surgeon, Dr. Christopher A. Bombeck, handles the spectrum of problems faced by patients requiring interventional therapy. This includes general abdominal and thoracic surgery as well as surgical oncology, surgical endocrinology, endoscopy, trauma surgery, and some vascular surgery. He uses the latest technological advances, such as advanced laparoscopic procedures, to treat the illnesses requiring surgical intervention.
While most patients initially see their primary care physician when they experience abdominal pain, discover areas of tenderness or find a “lump,” Dr. Bombeck provides advanced evaluation and treatment of these surgical problems, often working in conjunction with his colleagues in other specialties. He also emphasizes collaboration with referring physicians for optimal patient care.
In addition, Dr. Bombeck has an on-site suite of imaging, including X-ray, CT and MRI systems, available to him.
Varicose Vein Treatment
The days of painful procedures and long recovery periods are over for treating varicose veins. Dr. Bombeck uses the latest radio frequency catheter device, which seals the vein in three to five minutes, with virtually no discomfort to the patient. It is performed in his office with a local anesthetic, and patients are in and out in less than an hour, usually resuming normal activity the next day. Leg pain and heaviness disappear almost immediately and visible changes are evident in a few weeks.
