Dr. Tony Blair grew up in South Dakota with a passion for healthcare that began early. He has two siblings, and his sister is a neurologist in Washington state. “My sister and I were always academically competitive and interested in science. We both decided to go into healthcare while in elementary school. One of the drivers for both of us was that my father had some chronic medical issues that we wanted to cure.”
Dr. Blair has had many powerful moments in healthcare. One such moment was when he came across a patient he previously had as a resident rotating through the ICU. When Dr. Blair saw him again two years later, the patient told his grandson that before them stood the doctor who had saved his life.
Dr. Blair hopes to have his patients view him as a collaborative partner in their healthcare. “I do my best to explain the risks and benefits of any intervention so that patients can make informed decisions.”
Since moving to Oregon, Dr. Blair and his family have fallen in love with the Oregon coast and spending time there together. His other hobbies are: fly fishing, grilling, hiking, and other various outdoor activities.
