CORVALLIS — Dr. Angela Passanise (pronounced passa-KNEE- see) will join The Corvallis Clinic Orthopedics Department on Dec. 1. She will see patients in Corvallis in the Asbury Building at 3680 NW Samaritan Drive and in Albany at 1705 Waverly Drive SE. For an appointment, call 541-754-1276.
In addition to practicing sports medicine and overseeing non-operative treatments, Dr. Passanise performs multiple types of surgery, including shoulder and knee arthroplasty, rotator cuff and labral repair, ACL reconstruction, and fracture care.
Certified by the American Osteopathic Board of Orthopedic Surgeons, Dr. Passanise was an orthopedic surgeon from 2013 to 2016 at Mercy Clinic East in Washington, Mo, where she was also the medical director at Four Rivers Sports Medicine. During this time she was team physician for the St. Louis Ambush of the Professional Indoor Soccer League, the St. Louis Attack of the Professional Arena Football league, the St. Charles Chill of the semi-professional Central Hockey League, and for Union, Mo., High School and Pacific, Mo., High School.
A soccer player as an undergraduate, Dr. Passanise continued to play as she began an engineering career. However, a torn ACL sustained on the field altered her professional path. “The process of undergoing surgery and rehabbing my knee to return to sports inspired me to pursue a career in orthopedic surgery,” she said. “I dreamed of helping others return to the sport they love.”
She said her patients can expect a caring and understanding physician with excellent listening skills. “I feel it is critical that the patients are an integral part of the decision in their care.”
Dr. Passanise completed a fellowship in Orthopaedic Sports Medicine & Shoulder at Wellington Orthopaedics, University of Cincinnati, in 2013, and a residency in Orthopaedic Surgery at Henry Ford Health System – Macomb Hospitals, Michigan State University, in 2012. She earned a Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine from Kansas City University of Medicine and Biosciences in 2007.
Dr. Passanise and her husband have a 4-year-old son and twin 21-month-old daughters. She has completed several marathons, half marathons and triathlons, and she is an avid fan of the St. Louis Cardinals.
